Shorinji Kempo Competition in Sea Games XXVI in Jakarta, Indonesia

The Shorinji Kempo Competition in Sea Games XXVI have been conducted  successfully with participants from 7 countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Timor Leste, Vietnam and Indonesia).  This Game was followed  by  160 athletes and officials, and judged by 30 Judges from Indonesia, Japan and Malaysia.

“Shorinji Kempo has made history into the Arena of an International Sports beginning from this Asean Games, the Games of Southeast Asia people which called SEA GAMES.  The Sea Games which is held every 2 years  is certainly not a final goal but will be a stepping stone towards the Asian Games, even Olympic Games if we could”, said Kusumo AM Sensei, the President of Indonesian Shorinji Kempo Federation. While Tsunehiro Arai Sensei, as  the Head of  Judge and Technical Delegate of this Game watching directly and commended the implementation of this Sea Games.

Indonesia as the host for the XXVI Sea Games held this game  from November 11-26, 2011 in two cities of Indonesia, Jakarta and Palembang  and Shorinji Kempo Game was played from November 16-20, 2011 in Jakarta. 

PERKEMI’s Long Journey to SEA GAMES

PERKEMI (Indonesian Shorinji Kempo Federation) has done a very very long journey to Asean Countries so that Shorinji Kempo can be competed in Sea Games (XXVI). The following is the story of PERKEMI Boards of Executives journey.

After conducted many meetings few years before then on May, 28th- 31st, 2010 while the Sea Games Council Meeting has held in Hotel Mulia, Jakarta, Indonesia

some participants took time to talk about  competing Shorinji Kempo in Sea Games. They  were Chief Delegates Prof Prof Hoang Vinh Giang (Vietnam), Kaseem Inthara (Laos PDR), Kim Maung Lwin (Myanmar), Zuraimi Abdul Sani (Brunei Darussalam) beside Kusumo A Martoredjo (President Perkemi) and Indra Kartasasmita (Chief Instructor Perkemi) .

KEMPO EKSIBISI DI RIAU

Sehubungan dengan akan diselenggarakannya POPNAS ke-11 / 2011, di Pekanbaru, Riau, pada bulan September 2011, PB. PERKEMI telah mengadakan upaya agar Kempo dapat dipertandingkan dan telah mendapat dukungan dari Menpora. Pertandingan masih bersifat  Eksibisi karena baru untuk pertama kali, dan yang akan diikutsertakan para Kesnhi Pemula dan Remaja untuk Wilayah Sumatera I dan II serta Wilayah III ( Banten, DKI. Jawa Barat).

PERKEMI Pengprov. yang termasuk Wilayah Sumatera I & II serta Wilayah III, diharapakan untuk dapat mengadakan persiapan yang sebaik-baiknya.
